It's a new day and a new start of the journey! As previously mentioned, Geoffrey will begin his 2,400 mile trek from Key West, Fl to Ft. Kent, ME on the anniversary of his mother Pat's birth, March 17.
Pat and the family dealt with her progressively difficult and devastating memory loss for 24 years....24 long years. Early on, she told her family that she would live to a ripe old age but not remember any of it. Her prediction proved true as she spent many years in rest homes in her home of New Zealand.
It is to honor her and to support research that will END Alzheimer's Disease (and other dementias) that we undertake this walk. We need your help to make it happen. Not only do we need to raise lots of money along the way, but we have need of support in order to do it effectively and efficiently.
Soon, we will post our NEEDS LIST. Also, we will give you opportunities to lend your support - with tax-deductible financial gifts, with gifts-in-kind, and as support team volunteers along the route. Although the walk doesn't begin until March, time has a way of flying by!
